The Information Services and Instruction Section of the University Library Diliman is organizing the Product Demo Day with the theme The Search Continues on 17-18 May 2021, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM via Zoom Meeting. Members of college library faculty committees (faculty members and college librarians), acquisition librarians, and database point persons are invited to join this event. This event aims to be the platform for academic database providers to showcase their products and for the UP community to determine which of the demonstrated products may help advance the instruction, research, and extension mandate of the University. Please see the PDF attachment for the program.

Clarivate, a data, information, workflow solutions company, has invited the UP System community (faculty members, students, REPS, and administrative staff) to a series of product trainings for InCites (part of UP's Web of Science subscription) on two Fridays of May 2021 via Cisco Webex Trainings.  The training sessions will be facilitated by Ms. Dju-Lyn Chng, Regional Solution Consultant for Southeast Asia, Clarivate.

InCites Part I: Developing a comprehensive view of a research organization

  • Understand the more common research output indicators available in InCites and learn how to use various research area schemas for analysis
  • Develop a comprehensive view and understanding of how these indicators and schemas can be used to build a profile of an institution
  • This is a basic first session for new users of InCites and suitable for involved in reporting on research output and performance (example: research office, data analysts, research management administrators, etc)
InCites Part II: Benchmarking Institutions for strategic decision making and partnerships

  • Develop strategies to evaluate institutes that are contextually comparable.
  • Understand the pitfalls of comparing departments or institutes from different regional contexts or different research areas.

Training for Clarivate's Web of Science

The University Library invites the UP Mindanao community (faculty members, students, and staff) to an introductory product training for Clarivate's Web of Science on Friday, 23 April 2021, 2:00-3:30 PM via Zoom Meeting.  The training will be facilitated by Ms. Dju-Lyn Chng, Regional Solution Consultant for Southeast Asia, Clarivate.
 
 
At the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to use the Web of Science and InCites to conduct a comprehensive literature review.

Traje as resource speaker. This is an opportunity to learn the following:
  • Hazards that affect food and food business
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure food safety
  • Principles of Quality Management to ensure good quality food products.
