UPMin signs MOA with haws for UPMinCares health kiosk

UP Mindanao signed a memorandum of agreement with haws—Health and Wellness Solutions Technology Inc. on July 9, 2024, for improved healthcare access for its constituents.
To cater to the needs of UP Mindanao constituents, haws added features to their mobile app such as a Telemedicine and Appointment System for the UPMin community called UPMin Cares.
Chancellor Lyre Anni E. Murao, PhD, and haws Business Development Director Warren Cane agreed to set up the inaugural haws digital health kiosk on the campus. The user can avail of 12 doctor appointments and consultations with special rates for UP Mindanao students.
The kiosk and app rollout is scheduled for the next academic year. The haws team led by Mr. Cane was accompanied by two UPMin alumni: Wednesday Cabrera (BA Social Science 2002), haws director for healthcare provider engagements, and Andrew Louis Hermo (BS Computer Science 2023), haws software engineer. The Office of the Student Affairs Director, Ma. Stella Salazar, PhD, was also present as a witness to the MOA signing.
