The UP Mindanao Incident Command System (ICS) was activated for the drill, including point persons in the major buildings. At 9:00 a.m., the Administration Building siren sounded to signal the start of the drill. University constituents practiced the "duck-cover-and-hold" in their workplaces and, at the second siren sound, did an orderly building evacuation to their designated outdoor assembly points.

The designated ICS inspection teams inspected the buildings while the units did a roll call of their personnel. After the ICS personnel issued their respective "all-clear" reports, the PR Officer, acting as Incident Commander, announced the "all-clear" and issued the "return to work" advisory while the security team reviewed the number of "casualties" or identified persons who remained indoors.
Participation in the drill aligns with the UP Strategic Plan's thrust on Partnerships and Public Service, and the sustainable development goals on Sustainable Communities and Quality Education.
