UPMin hosts UPCAT 2024 Assessment and Evaluation
UPMin hosted the Assessment and Evaluation of the recent Affirmative Action and UPCAT campaigns in Bangsamoro and Northern and Southern Mindanao. The team of the Office of Admissions was led by Director Francisco de los Reyes, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod by Director Dr. Marie Therese Bustos, and BARMM representatives by MBHTE Curriculum Director and former UP Visayas Gurong Pahinungod volunteer Yul Olaya and colleague Ammier Dodo.
They were joined by Department of Education-Dinagat Island official and UPMin alumnus Jonathan Laid and online by collaborators from remote locations. The participating UPMin delegations were the Office of the University Registrar led by Registrar and Prof. Karen Joyce Cayamanda, the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod team led by Director and former Gurong Pahinungod volunteer Michael Gatela, the Office of Extension & Community Service team led by Director and Asst. Prof. Erwin Protacio, the Department of Human Kinetics led by department chairperson Asst. Prof. Jezreel Abarca and the student volunteers. Among the UPMin volunteers were Dean Aurelia Luzviminda Gomez, Land Management Officer and former Gurong Pahinungod volunteer Joel Sagadal, and Asst. Prof. Dennis Sumaylo. The group agreed on the success of the campaign and offered some improvements. The assembly also agreed on the possible opening of additional UPCAT Test Centers in the future. Chancellor Lyre Murao and VCAA Annabelle Novero met the visiting teams and were briefed on the assessment later in the day.
