"I congratulate you for passing the UPCAT and your decision to study in UP Mindanao," stated Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs Annabelle Novero in her message read by her Officer-in-Charge, Asst. Prof. Minerva Rosel. "Your top-notch education is supported by people's money, making you mga iskolar ng bayan. As the national university, UP is mandated to lead academic standards and initiate innovations in teaching. You will be guided by top-notch leaders and teachers. In return, your social responsibility is to serve and relate to the needs and aspirations, the social progress and transformation of the Filipino people. There are many ways of manifesting service: political, social, environmental, or simply by conducting yourself with integrity and honesty. While in UP Mindanao, explore extracurricular activities, hone your innate intelligence, and uplift lives. The UP community is diverse. Here, you will discover lifelong friendships. Share your dreams with like-minded individuals, and explore friendships. Push yourself to be the best for your family and community."
