The UP President's Proclamation No. 1, Series of 2018 declares September 21 of every year as the Day of Remembrance throughout the University of the Philippines (UP) System to remember the day former president Ferdinand Marcos Sr. declared martial law in the Philippines.

In observance of this day in the country's history, University President Angelo Jimenez enjoined the UP community through Memorandum No. PAJ 24-22, to initiate activities in line with the UP Day of Remembrance.

The exhibit at the Administration Building Atrium

In the UP Mindanao, students installed "Never Again" and "Never Forget" streamers on the Administration Building façade. They also created an exhibit showing news articles from that period and sketch portraits of persons who disappeared during the same period. 

Martial Law fact sheets

Leaflets containing socio-economic data and political events from the Martial Law period were distributed to correct the perceived efforts for historical revisionism in the present time.
