The University of the Philippines – Mindanao participated in the "CY 2024 Davao City Walk-The-Fault Activity" organized by the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DCDRRMO) in partnership with DOST-PHIVOLCS and Office of the Civil Defense XI from September 24-27, 2024. The UP Mindanao personnel who participated in the Walk-The-Fault activities were Assistant Professor Maynard Usares from the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), Mr. Invictus Lorenzo, Mr. Roberto Cardinal, and Mr. Quincy Felizcuso, all from the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Administration (OVCA).

The teams began by conducting simultaneous information and education campaigns and Walk-the-Fault activities from September 24 to 25, 2024, to raise awareness of barangay and residents transected by the Central Davao Fault System. The field activities were followed by a 2-day Writeshop Activity on September 26-27, 2024, at the Pinnacle Hotel in downtown Davao City. Aside from UP Mindanao, other city government offices, NEDA XI, DOST XI, DILG XI, MGB XI, NHA XI, DHSUD XI, and various barangay LGUs, among others, participated in the four-day activity.
