Chancellor Murao issued OC-Administrative Order –LAEM 2024 – 145 – v00, dated 23 September 2024, constituting the Building Safety and Hazard Assessment Committee. The committee is tasked with conducting a building safety and hazard assessment of all academic, administrative, student, and faculty housing buildings on the campus.

 The committee comprises personnel from the Physical Plant and Campus Planning offices, namely Engr. Cesar Estocado as chairperson, with Ar. Jean Marie Juanga, Ar. Oliver Telmo, Ar. Tricia Sardinia-Peek, Engr. Isaac Muncada, and Engr. Edmund Gemelo, and Engr. Rodel Reponte.

The chancellor's administrative order is consistent with UP President Jimenez's Memorandum No. PAJ 24-23, dated 16 September 2024, directing the chancellors, the UP Tacloban dean, and the PGH director to conduct a comprehensive building safety and hazard assessment in their respective units.

The committee scheduled its inspection for the first and second weeks of October 2024, and submit its report by 30 October 2024.
