SSS Junior Accounts Officer Loresa Aguilar presents the SSS short-term loans package |
SSS Junior Accounts Officer Loresa Aguilar explained the benefits arising from disability, retirement, death, and funeral expenses, as well the loan packages such as the short-term loan, salary loan, calamity loan, educational loan, and the pension loan.
Branch Head Gopo presented the retirement savings programs such as the Mandatory Pension Booster, which implements automatic enrollment for all employed and self-employed Filipinos, and the Voluntary Pension Booster for SSS members.
Vice-Chancellor for Administration Leo Manuel Estaña said UP Mindanao units will collect and remit the contributions of COS and JO personnel who will authorize the university to process these with the SSS.
The Human Resource Development Office Chief Lynda Buenaobra organized the orientation in line with UP and the SSS' Memorandum of Agreement signed by UP President Angelo Jimenez on August 14, 2024, extending social security benefits to the university's COS and JO personnel, as part of the university's efforts to provide all personnel—regardless of status—with additional employee benefits.
"Although we do not have direct employer-employee relationships with the concerned personnel, we aim to use our resources to help alleviate some of their worries, especially about their savings through social security coverage," President Jimenez stated during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
