UP Mindanao inaugurated a new dormitory on September 14, 2023. UP President Angelo Jimenez, Chancellor Lyre Murao, and Office of Student Affairs (OSA) Director Maria Stella Salazar led the inauguration ceremony. The inauguration offered the public a glimpse of the dormitory's facilities. The three-story dormitory located beside the Elias B. Lopez (EBL) Hall will provide housing for 232 students and multipurpose facilities for enhanced living and learning services. The new dorm has 60 rooms with four students in each room; two rooms for PWDs, two guest rooms, and eight offices, all of which feature their own comfort rooms. It also features one function hall for various activities.
Prof. Salazar led a brief tour of the dorm, underlining UP's dedication to creating a conducive learning environment for its students. Knowing the urgency of the students for housing, Prof. Salazar hopes to open the new dormitory in 2023.

The new dorm adds to growing campus housing accommodations. The existing dormitory annex 1 and 2 at the College of Science and Mathematics complex were designed for thesis students and visiting professors. The new Faculty & Staff Housing Building has accommodations for 35 persons.
An alumni hostel, a president's executive house, an athlete's hostel in the DC-UP Sports Complex, and accommodations for locators in the future Knowledge, Innovation, Science & Technology (KIST) Park, are in the planning stages.
