The consul said Davao City has a sister city agreement with Kitakyushu City which has the Kitakyushu Science and Research Park operating with the collaboration of universities, research institutes, and industrial companies. Chancellor Digal presented UP Mindanao’s expansion plans, including the upcoming academic programs, research thrusts, and campus development plans, and offered to arrange future meetings. Dr. Melvin Pasaporte also shared with the consul some experiences from the UP Mindanao polylactic acid commercialization project. Finally, Consul Miwa took a tour of the campus guided by Architect Ellen Dorado and Campus Planning & Development chief Cherrylyn Cabrera.
