In the 11th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week, held 22-25 August 2017 in Metro Manila:

•    Gayle Lagmay (BS Food Tech. 2016) was 1st Prize winner-Undergraduate Research Paper Oral Presentation for “Photocatalytic and Antimicrobial Studies of Polyhydroxybutyrate- CO- Hydroxyhexanoate Nanocomposite Film”. Her study shows that biofilms have potential as packaging material for food and as material for wastewater treatment in the textile industry. Jessa Mae Villanueva (BSFT 2016) won 3rd Prize for "Investigative Study of the Antimicrobial Property of Sodium Alginate/TiO2 Nanocomposite Film".  

In the 7th Regional Health Research and Development Expo, 21-22 September, Davao City:

•    Elizabeth Velasco (BSFT 2017), 1st Place, Research Paper Presentation and 1st Place-Poster Exhibit for “Development of Antimicrobial Durian Starch-Carrageenan/Carvacrol Films”.
•    Ruby Ricalde (BS Agribusiness Economics 2017), 2nd Place-Poster for “Optimal Diets of Indigenous Children in Conflict and Non-Conflict Areas of Davao del Norte”
