UP Mindanao’s UP Growing and Developing Enterprises (UPGRADE) and its Technology Transfer & Business Development Office (TTBDO) is in charge of Day 3 of Philippine Startup Week 2022 (PHSW22). PHSW22 brings together the local startup community in a 5-day nationwide conference on November 14-18, 2022, through the efforts of the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade & Industry, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and QBO Innovation Hub. 

Day 3 on November 16 is the Technology Business Incubation (TBI) Summit which brings together the DOST-funded incubators and other organizations and persons to foster collaboration and discuss emerging issues and challenges of the startups and their community.

 Now in its 6th year, this year’s TBI Summit theme is “Homegrown Heroes: Incubating Future Tech Giants,” which will highlight the launching of the 2022 Higher Education Institution Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship (HEIRIT) Program. The UP Mindanao UPGRADE and TTBDO are the proponents of HEIRIT in Region-XI.

Strategic plan presentation and call for partnerships, 2022

  • Scholarships offered by DOST, CHED, Davao City; employee trainings requested by most agencies

The University of the Philippines (UPMin) partnered with external agencies in a recent meeting in order to move forward to the forefront of transformative education. For this, UPMin will offer expanded access to higher education for the Mindanao youth and lifelong learning for professionals. In addition, UPMin will further expand its extension services for the communities. These were some of UPMin's responses to feedback given by external stakeholders following UPMin’s three-year strategic plan presentation and call for partnerships in a forum on September 27, 2022.

UP alumni visit UPMin for Bangkaw sa Dabaw

Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao and UPAA-Davao chairperson Nap Concepcion welcomed Upsilon Sigma Phi alumni at the UP Mindanao campus on September 23, 2022. The alumni visited during their Bangkaw sa Dabaw golf and fellowship event. Former USC chair Andryc Carbonilla accompanied the visiting group.
