DMPCS holds 2024 search for the Best Undergraduate Thesis

The candidates for graduation from the BS Applied Mathematics (BSAM) and the BS Computer Science (BSCS) programs applied their skills to a broad range of social and economic issues in the 2024 Search for the Best Undergraduate Thesis in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, held on July 15, 2024, at the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Building.
In the Best Thesis Competition, Algorithm Category, the BSAM theses showcased a diverse range of topics from the coffee value chain in Davao del Sur to the changes in the benthic cover in Sta. Cruz and the innovative use of deep learning for rabies forecasting in Davao City.
The BSCS theses in the same category explored practical issues, such as the Facility Location Problem of Davao City households, the performance of the Rabies Data Analytics Dashboard (RabDash) app, and the use of Deep Learning for understanding the behavior of the Long-Tailed Macaque.
